A few years ago, I truly thought I’d never run again.
After a hip procedure left me with nerve damage, I lost 50% feeling in my right leg—numbness, nerve pain, and major muscle atrophy. The imbalance wrecked my strength and my fitness tanked. It was devastating.
But after a lot of hard work (and a lot of tears) over the last few years, plus some serious rehab with Dr. Mike Nash at Precision Osteopractice, things slowly started to shift.
And somehow… here I am. Running again through my favorite mountain range in New Hampshire.
Recently, I ran one of the most technical routes in the state: 157 miles and 54,000 ft of elevation in one go. I’m still in disbelief. I’m already planning something even more intense for the end of summer.
I seriously wouldn’t be here without regular rehab with Dr. Nash. I may not be the same ever again, but he’s helping me be the best I could ever be. I’m grateful beyond words for his knowledge, support, and the second chance to chase what I love.
Precision is so proud of Amber for the incredible effort she has put into her rehabilitation and training. She has done a fantastic job preparing for her run of the New Hampshire section of the Appalachian Trail. She is too humble to mention it herself, but we are overjoyed to announce that, at the time of writing this success story, her effort is now the overall Fastest Known Time (FKT) for completing this segment of the trail in a single endeavor!
